Fundraisers for Southwell Swimming Pool 1965

Southwell swimming pool was built in the 1960s following a ground-breaking crowdfunding initiative by the community to raise £40,000 - worth £800,000 in today's terms.

FOSS were given a copy of the original Final List of Subscribers pamphlet given to one of those subscribers  in 1965.

“The Trustees and Committee wish to thank all subscribers, large and small, whether in cash, or kind, for their contributions. Their generous support has made possible the building of the Pool which opened in July 1965.”
